3 Pine Mountain Naturalist Walk, Sunday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Join Marin County Open Space District for a naturalist walk on Pine Mountain. The hike includes a steep climb, so wear appropriate shoes. Meet at the Pine Mountain Fire Road t railhead, about one mile south of the Meadow Club on the Fairfax- Bolinas Road. 23 Ross Valley Sanitary District Public Workshop, Saturday, Noon to 2:00 p.m., Bacich Community Center, 699 Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, Kentfield. Ross Valley Sanitary District (RVSD) is planning to replace the existing sanitary sewer force main in the berm along Corte Madera Creek in Kentfield. During this workshop, RVSD staff and project design engineers will provide an overview of the project, review alternate alignments considered, and listen to comments and concerns.

20 White Hill Habitat Restoration, Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Join Marin County Open Space District for an energetic project pulling broom. Drive west from Fairfax on Sir Francis Drake. Look for MCOSD signs as you approach Hal Brown Bridge and park alongside the road. 8 San Anselmo Flood Committee Meeting, Monday, 7:00 p.m., San Anselmo Town Council Chambers, 525 San Anselmo Avenue, San Anselmo. Hear Bill Wilson speak about permeable surfaces, stormwater management, and low-impact development. He is an environmental planning and engineering consultant with 40 years experience working internationally in the field of comprehensive sustainable development. His project work in recent years has focused on significant individual LEED buildings, and on dense urban master planning and infrastructure, especially with regard to Low Impact Development (LID),stormwater planning and wastewater reuse.


13 Explore a Watershed, Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to Noon. Join Dr. Paul da Silva, College of Marin biology professor, to explore the natural history of a watershed by following the course of a small watershed tributary of the Corte Madera Creek. Dr. da Silva is an engaging and informative botanist and entomologist, who has taught courses ranging from "Stewardship of Marin County Parks and Open Space class" and "Field Botany of Marin" to the upcoming "Introduction to Insect Biodiversity" starting in January. He is also likely to touch on subjects ranging from community ecology, food systems, sustainable agriculture, park and open space management and environmental education during this walk. 27 Habitat Restoration with MMWD, Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to Noon. Join MMWD to remove invasive species along the Moore Trail. Meet at Marin Stables at the end of Wood Lane in Fairfax. Contact volunteerprogram@marinwater.org with questions.

17 Earth Day Work Day, Saturday, starting at 9:30 a.m. College of Marin Ecology Study Area. Park on McAllister, walk to the end of Stadium Way and turn left along the bike path to the site. Wear boots and gloves, to weed and tend new plants. Call Charlie at 457-1147 for information.
