Invasive Grass Removal, Fairfax @ Marin Stables, at end of Porteous Lane
Oct 21 @ 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Panic veldt grass, also known as simply Ehrharta grass, is an invasive plant which the Watershed and One Tam staff are controlling just upstream of Marin Stables.

The entrance to the Watershed at the Stables could serve as a pathway for this plant to spread along our creeks and trails. Focusing on our pathways, wash areas and picnic tables, our removal of this plant will prevent seeds from being tracked into the Watershed on our boots, horse hooves and manure. As this species expands its range in Marin County, MMWD is working hard to limit impacts on riparian areas in particular.

Help keep the creek upstream of the Stables in good shape by joining us in a weed pulling work party. Family-friendly event! Meeting location Marin Stables, end of Wood Lane, off Porteous Ave in Fairfax.

To pre-register or for more information about the above volunteer events, call 415-945-1128 or e-mail volunteerprogram@marinwater.org
