Join Open Space volunteers to sink native roots into the ground along Ring Mountain’s roads and trails! This winter, we will need lots of help to plant native grasses and remove weeds in a new restoration area along Endeavor Fire Rd. The fire road was recently repaired to provide a good surface for hiking and to reduce erosion. Unfortunately, disturbed areas along the road can quickly become weedy without our help. Don’t let weeds travel along this road and into the most sensitive areas of the preserve! Come help remove weeds and plant native grasses in their place so that we can protect one of Marin County’s natural wonders. Volunteer work is mildly strenuous and involves bending, pulling, and kneeling, and usually requires a short hike to the site. All ages are welcome; anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a supervising adult. Dress in layers you can get dirty, wear sturdy shoes, and bring water. Please bring gloves if you have them. Snacks and extra water will be provided. Heavy rain will cancel. RSVP’s are appreciated but not required. DIRECTIONS: From Hwy 101 in Corte Madera, take the exit for Tamalpais Dr east. Go straight onto San Clemente, which merges into Paradise Dr. after 0.4 miles. Follow Paradise Dr approximately 0.4 mile. Turn right onto Prince Royal Dr, then right onto Endeavor Dr after 0.3 miles. Continue to the gate at the end of the road.
