SUMMARY:Broom Pull at Phoenix Lake
DESCRIPTION:Join Marin Water at Phoenix Lake for the first broom pull of the season. Learn about Marin’s unique plant and animal life\, while removing invasive weeds to support the growth of native plants and animal biodiversity on the Mt. Tam Watershed.\n•	Registration is not required but is encouraged if you would like updates.\n•	All first-time volunteers must also sign our Volunteer Service Agreement.\nVolunteers will be allowed to drive through the gate at Natalie Coffin Greene Park\, drive up and park next to Phoenix Lake dam. We will be opening this gate at 8:40 a.m. and closing it at 9 a.m. Gate will remain locked until the end of the event. Please let us know in advance if you will not be staying for the duration of the trail work day and need directions to alternate parking. Signs and cones will mark the area. \nThis is a family friendly event that is suitable for ages 13 and up\, with parental supervision required for volunteers under 16. Volunteers should be comfortable using hand tools\, bending\, kneeling and lifting. Please dress for variable weather by wearing long pants and sturdy hiking shoes and bring a water bottle. \nThese restoration events typically take place one or two times a month throughout the rainy season while the ground is soft. Marin Water and AmeriCorps also have capacity to host one weekday community event per month – contact us! \nMeeting location is Phoenix Lax Dam at 9 a.m. for sign-in and breakfast snacks. Parking passes\, tools\, gloves\, snacks and water are provided to volunteers. Call 415-945-1128 after 7 a.m. the morning of the event for updates in case of extreme weather. Heavy rain will cancel.
