Our Projects

Making tangible and dramatic improvements to the watershed

Through various projects Friends of Corte Madera Creek makes tangible and dramatic improvements to the watershed’s natural environment. Some are large projects, involving public agencies and the hiring of professionals for design services, engineering and construction, funded by large grants. Small-scale projects are also beneficial and often involve the community. Most of these projects depend upon volunteer labor.

Habitat Enhancement

Friends has implemented many habitat enhancement or restoration projects over the last 25 years.

Fish Passage

Our watershed once hosted abundant spawning activity, now impeded by barriers. We are working diligently to remove those barriers.

Water Quality Monitoring

We have collected data on temperature, dissolved oxygen, and bacteria—all water quality indicators of habitat health.
