Sky Ranch Broom Pull
Jan 14 @ 9:00 am – 1:00 pm

Join San Anselmo and Fairfax Open Space Committees and Marin County Parks for a broom pulling work party. The weather is cool and the ground is soft.  ‘Tis the season for pulling broom from our newest open space acquisition, Sky Ranch.  Located on the borders of San Anselmo and Fairfax on the shoulder of Bald Hill, Sky Ranch is now part of the Bald Hill Open Space Preserve. This new addition to the preserve offers outstanding views and hiking opportunities.  Work is proceeding to restore the landscape to its natural state.  Now it is time to remove the invasive, non-native, and highly-flammable broom that infests the preserve, before it goes to seed. All skill levels are welcome and no previous experience is necessary. It is possible for volunteers as young as 5 years old to join if teamed with a parent or guardian. Dress in layers you can get dirty and wear sturdy shoes. Snacks, lunch and extra water will be provided. In the event of heavy rain and/or high winds call (415) 473-3778 to find out about event status. In the event of cancellation, event will be rescheduled. RSVP’s are required. Questions or to RSVP: Contact Volunteer Coordinator Greg Reza at (415) 473-3778 or GReza@marincounty.org. Meet at Doc Edgar Park on Cascade and Cypress in Fairfax at 9 AM and we will carpool to the preserve.
