Enrich important habitat at Hal Brown Park and Creekside Marsh with One Tam and Marin County Parks. Join the community-based effort to install a diverse palette of native plants at a site once dominated by non-native grasses and weeds. All ages; kids with an adult.

Habitat Restoration at Marin Stables, Fairfax

Sprinkle or shine, meet your friends and family at Marin Stables for a day of habitat restoration with MMWD. Have a fun morning pulling broom and then enjoy Cowboy Chili with all the fixin’s at noon! Meet at Marin Stables, end of Wood Lane, off Porteous Avenue in Fairfax. Everyone ages 8 and up is welcome.

Phoenix Lake Broom Removal

Join MMWD and Friends, meeting at Phoenix Lake dam. The gate at Natalie Coffin Greene Park will be open only from 8:45 to 9:00 to allow volunteers to drive up and park next to the dam. Ring Mountain Restoration

Join County Parks’ monthly drop-in workday and help restore beautiful grasslands that are home to numerous rare and endangered plants, remove invasive species, collect seeds, tarp, and/or installing native plants. Ages 5 and up welcome. Kids must be accompanied by an adult.

Ring Mountain Preserve. Meet at the gate at the end of Taylor Rd in Tiburon

It is possible for volunteers as young as 5 years old to join if teamed with a parent or guardian.

Habitat Restoration at Phoenix Lake: Broom Be Gone!
May 18 @ 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Help MMWD improve the oak woodland and grassland habitat around Phoenix Lake by removing invasive French broom.

We will meet at Phoenix Lake dam. The gate at Natalie Coffin Greene Park will be open from 8:45 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. to allow volunteers to drive up and park next to the dam. Folks arriving after 9 a.m. or leaving before noon will need to find their own parking.

Directions from Sir Francis Drake Blvd in Ross: Turn west onto Lagunitas Road (across form the Marin Art & Garden Center) and drive one mile to the end into Natalie Coffin Greene Park.

Family friendly! Minors under the age of 16 must have a guardian present. Those ages 16-18 must have permission from a guardian.
