Habitat Restoration: Phoenix Lake Broom
Jan 18 @ 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

We bet your New Year’s resolutions include exercise, getting out in nature, and giving back to your community. We are here to help you with that! Join your fellow nature lovers in a morning of habitat restoration around Phoenix Lake.

Meet with MMWD staff at Phoenix Lake dam. The gate at Natalie Coffin Greene Park will be open from 8:45 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. to allow volunteers to drive up and park next to the dam. Folks arriving after 10 a.m. or leaving before noon will need to find their own parking.

Directions from Sir Francis Drake Blvd in Ross: Turn west onto Lagunitas Road (across form the Marin Art & Garden Center) and drive one mile to the end, into Natalie Coffin Greene Park.

Family friendly. Minors under the age of 16 must have a guardian present. Those ages 16-18 must have permission from a guardian.

Please bring a water bottle, closed toe shoes and clothes for variable weather. Bring your lunch. We will provide tools, breakfast snacks and water!
Before coming to the watershed, please call 415-945-1195 to check for road or trail closures due to heavy rain.

One Tam Member Outing: Mushrooms of Mt. Tam
Jan 18 @ 10:00 am

Join One Tam for an exploratory stroll into the different habitats and rich diversity around Lake Lagunitas at the peak of Mt. Tam’s mushroom season. Our easy-going stroll will cover approximately 2 miles of easy to moderate difficulty terrain (with a long set of stairs at the beginning of the hike). Bring your layers, sturdy walking shoes and water.

A forecast of certain rain will cancel (we would reschedule for January 25), though we may journey on through chance of rain and spotty showers. If the weather is questionable, we will send updates to everyone registered.

Meeting location: Lake Lagunitas parking lot (Google Map)
