One Tam Winter Workday: Bald Hill Broom Bust

Under the OneTam umbrella — please join MMWD and Marin County Parks for the annual Bald Hill Broom Bust! Volunteers will focus on containing the spread of French broom monocultures and also eradicate pioneer patches. Habitat restoration begins at 9 a.m. Ranger chili lunch follows field work at noon.

Note: This project requires a mile hike uphill to the project site on Worn Springs Fire Road. Parking is limited; carpooling and biking encouraged. RSVP is required; please contact us at volunteer@onetam.org or (415) 561-3077.

Detailed schedule:
• 8:30 a.m. – Meet at Phoenix Lake dam for an optional guided hike to the worksite
• 9 a.m. – Volunteer registration and welcome at Bald Hill worksite
• 9:15 a.m. – noon – Break up into teams and begin work
• Noon -1 p.m. – Hot chili lunch celebration at Bald Hill worksite
